I like working with the processed kits from slate because it can be really inspiring when you are writing a track. Then I read on a forum that the samples on the website are mixed and the samples that you buy sound much more raw like you are saying. I usually add some buss compression, sometimes a little eq or transient designer on the individual tracks like the snare, kick and toms but not a lot is needed before it's mix ready if programmed correctly.Īnyhow, When I checked the website and heard the demo's I was quite excited to buy them because they sound huge. The modern rock kit in the classic series is great for my styles of music too. I've been really digging the Terry Date stuff because it sounds quite Terry Date-ish lol. I really like slate's plugins and I own most of them including ssd4 with all the other expansions.
